Sometimes red, sometimes radiant
Sometimes crescent, sometimes eclipsed
The moon travels in the sky
And we try to capture it in our eyes
We bathe in its light
A cool warmth every night
We ask it to shed some shine
On the matters of our lives
We tell it all our stories
Our lovers and their glories
We flirt using it a thousand times
It reminds of our beloved; it isn't a lie
An odd bunch we are
We talk of Moon and the stars
As if they invite us with open arms
To a party in the Cosmic realm
The moon passes through its phases
And we pass through ours
Growing up all the while
With a familiar presence in the sky
